Photography is a very important part of our culture, and for good reason: it helps us share our lives with others. The art of image making goes back a very long way. From the earliest cave paintings to the latest digital imaging technology, humans have been creating ways of expressing ourselves. As with all visual media, photography has the distinct ability to overcome all language barriers, to share its stories with people of all nations, and to even the playing field among all who see.
